plenty of things to do (and what about the things I need to stop doing? A very personal topic)
So, plenty of things to do:
feel better: relationships, vitamins, vegetables, blood work, dentist this week, bills
Maybe some cardio but probably not, I do power yoga 4x a week. But still want to.lose weight, get rid of back fat maybe also do some targeting excesses in that area but probably not! I was overweight last year, power yoga changed that but that’s not why I did power yoga, weight loss was the side effect. Maybe just add a home practice since I lost my iyengar Alignment class and the restorative mandala vinyasa flow Shiva Rea class 😦 I got her DVD.
get my yoga practice back to me – stop thinking about around me. and how do I get less hot and muggy…more synthetic less cotton?
And there’s more to do:
poetry study and writing
reconcile my artists statement
make books: family art history, body photography, my poetry
natural fabric dyeing:. Still need to try pokeberry, sumac, marigold and
create forms/visual language out of what I’ve already tried with natural dyeing= circles and mirror images have started to develop
(completed dye trying: black walnut, indigo w/ shibori, onion skin, sumac leave prints, avocado, pomegranate, tylose resist)
photocopy gel medium transfer landscape mirror paintings…
Quilt the 3 large quilts I have pieced, for my January show
Stitch—slow cloth experiments. I’ve been dyeing for a year and I’ve never really tried stitching. Stitching for me is necessary to the quilt. Not a design element to me. I really need to think about this now since my “patches” are large I cant just stitch in the ditch and hide the quilting. Drawing quilt stitch inspiration from Gees Bend quilters and slow cloth, Japanese boro, Indian Kantha Also old cotton feed/flour sacks. people mended and reused them! And used them in the backs of quilts. I saw one at the lodge I stayed in this weekend.
